MOTOWN MOE Tropic of Groove Windee Records

True to his clever artist name, charting producer/keyboardist/mixer and mastering engineer Motown Moe (Kevin Dingle) hails from Detroit. In addition to eight solo projects, he’s worked with artists from all over the world, including fellow Michigan Smooth Jazz performer Nate Harasim. Moe’s latest album TROPIC OF COOL is a sexy, keyboard driven collection of enticing, mood setting, Chill-Jazz grooves, hypnotic melodies and sensuous atmospheres. The first single, “Beach Breeze,” will introduce new fans to the Motown Moe vibe, as the title track leads to more horn-infused, synth mastery on the mystical “Tropic of Groove,” while he adds a little acoustic guitar and sax on “Light of Life.” TROPIC OF GROOVE brings the heat with a beat! ~JONATHAN WIDRAN

Motown Moe delivers a sophisticated sonic landscape on BLU FOR U. Inspired by all things soulful including 1960’s and 1970’s Motown as well as the Philly sound, plus Smooth Jazz, New Age and Fusion from artists like the Rippingtons, Dancing Fantasy and Jeff Lorber. Motown Moe spent much of his youth growing up in Detroit becoming a musical sponge during the Motown revolution and during the time of highly experimental jazz that came to be called Fusion. He absorbed everything he could get his ears on… the Jazz Crusaders, Tom Scott and the L.A. Express, Bob James, Grover… all of it. Now retired from the U.S. Air Force, Motown Moe has created a home studio where he is fulfilling his life’s calling… creating a stirring ambience through instrumental music. BLU FOR U features 15 tracks as well as special guest London saxophonist, Martin Sharpe who plays seductively on several songs on this debut release. Referring to his sound as “hip-soft,” BLU FOR U is a soulful, chillout jazz soundtrack perfect for midnight encounters, long drives and weekends away. Currently in the studio recording METRO DREAMS, Motown Moe is making his mark in the world of Global music through a blend of old and nu! ~SANDY SHORE.

Serge Kozlovsky “Sunny Breeze” …from jazz and rock to ambient and new age… Can I ask you to send me one more copy (maybe signed) of this your truly wonderful CD?

Keith Community Radio 102.8 FM Keith Banffshire SCOTLAND

Thank you for sending this C.D. This is an excellent recording from first to last, played with style and feeling, also considerable skill. The compositions are well put together with good phrasing and the music ebbs and flows at a nice tempo. It conveys a mood of reflective contemplation and deep thinking at times with a hint of bleakness which is temporary, and soon overtaken by the more uplifting passages of music. Good writing, arranging, and production make this an eminently listenable C.D. Well done to all concerned.

Motown Moe – Blu For U I feel this cd could fit nicely in either the ambiance or smooth jazz category. You could listen to it anywhere, especially at work, because of the gentle improvisation that does not demand your attention. The delicate haunting arrangements make it a jewel of escape from today’s hustle and bustle world. I especially enjoyed the tracks sax player Martin Sharpe played on; Downhill Glide, French Connection and Late Night Log On. Heaven Is Found, London Nights, Non Stop to LA, Watch Me Rollin and Weekend In Paris are also well worth a listen. Blue For U is a very uplifting cd – pure joy to the senses. John Holden 2CCR FM90

New Age, tikkeltje with an R & B, which hijzelf "hipsoft" noemt.
